At our meeting of 2006-07-25, the following resultion was passed overwhelmingly:
This Trades Council condemns Israel's murderous assault on the people of Lebanon and calls for an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israel from the occupied territories. While Israel has a right to exist and defend itself it does not have a right to constantly expand by occupying its neighbour's land and eliminating any opposition to its colonialist project. We deplore British collusion with USA hegemonic policy in opposing the UN call for a ceasefire and recognise that there can be no lasting and just solution in the Middle East crisis without resolving the Palestinian issue.
