Forthcoming local eventsMeeting «Public Services NOT Private Profit»
Speakers:
All welcome to attend
Report on the recent NHS Together DemonstrationsAs part of the «NHS Together» campaign, which is being led by the trade union movement, there were a series of demonstrations across the North West on March 3rd, which attracted working people in large numbers, with trade union activists at the vanguard. 500 people attended the nearest demonstration, in Preston city centre. The main local issue was the the decision of the local Primary Care Trust to restructure hospital and clinical services on market lines. The proposed Clinical Assessment and Treatment Support centre (CATS) will be run by Netcare, a multi-national company. Although Netcare will take all profits, the NHS will foot the £2.3 million construction bill
