Blackpool accommodation - where to stayFor over a century, Blackpool has become renowned as a venue for trade union and labour movement events, whether they are conferences, weekend schools or purely social gatherings. Information for conference arrangers can be found on the official Blackpool Tourism website. The Blackpool Trades and Social Club will cater for conference fringes, socials and functions. Where not to stayThe overwhelming majority of visitors to Blackpool are welcome but unfortunately in November 2006 the British National Party (BNP) held their conference in the New Kimberley Hotel, 585-589 New South Promenade, Blackpool FY4 1NQ. This was in spite of promises by trade unionists and other anti-racists that we would boycott any hotel hosting the conference. Our Trades Council and other bodies of the TUC are therefore urging people to boycott this hotel. It should be noted that a number of other, unrelated, establishments have the name Kimberley and it is only the New Kimberley Hotel at the above address which should be boycotted. |
